Get a QuoteDuplex Steel explained
Duplex Stainless Steel is a high-performance family of stainless steels characterized by a balanced dual-phase microstructure of austenite and ferrite, combining the best properties of both. This unique structure provides exceptional strength, superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316. Duplex steels also offer improved thermal conductivity, lower thermal expansion, and outstanding performance in aggressive chloride-bearing environments, making them ideal for demanding industrial applications.
The most widely used duplex grades include S31803 and S32205 (Duplex 2205). These grades offer nearly twice the yield strength of austenitic stainless steels along with excellent resistance to chloride-induced corrosion, erosion, and fatigue. Duplex 2205 is extensively used in oil & gas production, chemical processing, desalination plants, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, marine structures, and offshore platforms, where high strength and corrosion resistance are critical for long-term reliability.
Super Duplex Steel explained
Super Duplex Stainless Steel is an advanced class of duplex alloys engineered for extreme corrosion resistance and ultra-high mechanical strength in the harshest industrial environments. With significantly higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content than standard duplex grades, Super Duplex steels deliver exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, chloride stress corrosion cracking, and sulfide stress cracking, even in highly aggressive seawater and sour service conditions.
The most prominent super duplex grades include S32750 and S32760. S32750 offers outstanding resistance to seawater corrosion, excellent fatigue strength, and superior performance in offshore and subsea systems. S32760 provides even higher resistance to localized corrosion and enhanced protection against sour gas environments due to additional alloying elements such as tungsten. These alloys are widely used in offshore oil & gas platforms, subsea pipelines, desalination plants, chemical tankers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, marine hardware, and pollution control equipment, where failure is not an option.
The materials we supply undergo a comprehensive range of quality assurance procedures, including eddy current testing, hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic examination, and other essential NDT methods, along with detailed chemical and mechanical property evaluations. Each product is thoroughly inspected at multiple stages of manufacturing to ensure it is free from defects and suitable for demanding industrial applications. Our rigorous testing standards guarantee consistent quality and reliability. In addition, all products are manufactured in accordance with relevant industry norms and specifications, making them fully compliant and widely accepted in both domestic and international markets.
